On September 22, 2025, the Faculty of Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized by the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, held an Eco-Sport Day among the first-year students majoring in Turkology.
The main goal of the event was not only to increase students’ interest in sports but also to foster ecological culture and promote the importance of environmental protection. The program of the day included a cycling tour in nature, a running marathon, open-air workouts, and the “Zero Plastic Day” campaign – avoiding the use of plastic items for one day.
Students enjoyed the outdoors, demonstrated cooperation and enthusiasm, and set an example of ecological responsibility by emphasizing the harmony between sports, a healthy lifestyle, and nature.
During Eco-Sport Day, participants stood out not only for their sporting activity but also for their ecological mindset and culture of environmental care. This initiative not only strengthened students’ environmental awareness but also motivated them to actively participate in projects aimed at protecting nature in the future.
The faculty and department continue to support students’ active involvement in such meaningful and beneficial activities. There is confidence that young Turkologists will contribute not only to academic achievements but also to public and ecological initiatives in the years ahead.
