A Student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Represented Kazakhstan in the Final of the “Chinese Bridge” International Competition

Doskhan Kanapiyauly, a 2nd-year student of the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, represented Kazakhstan in the final of the 24th “Chinese Bridge” International Competition for foreign students learning Chinese.

It should be noted that Doskhan won 1st place in the regional qualifying round in Kazakhstan and earned the right to compete in the international final. The final stage of the competition took place in August 2025 in Nanping, Fujian Province, China. As a result, he ranked among the top 30 participants out of hundreds of students from around the world.

During the final, participants not only went through various competition stages but also visited different Chinese cities, where they learned about traditional culture and the latest innovations in the field of intelligent manufacturing. All expenses of the Kazakhstani student were fully covered by the Chinese organizers.

Although Doskhan Kanapiyauly did not win a prize, he was awarded a grant for one semester of free study at any university in China.

This achievement clearly demonstrates the strong potential of students of the Department of Chinese Studies in advancing knowledge and fostering intercultural dialogue.
