Meeting with UNWTO Representative at KazNU: Cooperation in Tourism and Gender Equality

At the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University campus, at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, a meeting was held between the Dean of the Faculty, A.S. Aktymbaeva, and the Project Manager of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO, Madrid, Spain), Benjamin Owen.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the fields of tourism, sustainable development, gender policy, and other key areas that were initiated within the framework of the participation of the university’s scholars in the II UN Regional Conference on Tourism dedicated to empowering women in tourism in the Asia-Pacific region, which took place in Indonesia.

In addition, as part of this visit, the faculty’s facilities were utilized for video recording. The materials will be used in the preparation of a report on gender equality in tourism in Kazakhstan, which is planned to be presented at the United Nations.
