🎓 Al-Farabi KazNU has launched the micro-qualification program “Investigation of Economic Crimes”

The Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics, in cooperation with the Agency for Financial Monitoring of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Department of Economic Investigations in Almaty, is implementing a unique course aimed at training specialists in the field of economic security.

📌 Program Objective — to develop professional competencies for conducting pre-trial investigations: from drafting procedural documents and analyzing financial risks to working with information systems and cooperating with financial intelligence units.

📚 Course Structure:
* Theoretical preparation (4 weeks);
* Practical skills training (6 weeks);
* Work with case studies and mock criminal cases (4 weeks);
* Final project defense (1 week).

🧩 Modules cover:
* Key aspects of investigating economic crimes;
* Crimes against property;
* Illegal gambling business;
* Money laundering and legalization of illicit income;
* Modeling and defense of a mock criminal case.

✅ Duration — 15 weeks (10 academic credits).
✅ Format — in-person, online, or blended learning.
✅ Target audience — senior students majoring in Law, Economics, and Finance.

📖 The training includes working with simulators of the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations (URPTI), SIOPSO, and IS SER, as well as practical workshops with experts.

🎓 Upon completion, students will receive certificates confirming their qualifications, providing a significant advantage for employment in financial monitoring bodies, law enforcement agencies, and the private sector.

The event is aligned with the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”, while also contributing to the achievement of SDG 4 “Quality Education”.
