This year, the Kazakhstan Criminological Association celebrates its 25th anniversary.

On September 26, 2025, during the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Protection of Personal Data: The Era of Digital Transformation of Modern Kazakh Society”, held at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and jointly organized by the Kazakhstan Criminological Association, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Toraighyrov University, a number of domestic and international scholars who made a significant contribution to the advancement of criminological science and to strengthening international cooperation in this field were awarded the Jubilee Medal.

Among the nominees are renowned scholars and practitioners, professors of leading universities in Europe and Asia: Rector of the University of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, Russian criminologist, Doctor of Law, Professor I. M. Matskevich (Russia); Adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Professor V. S. Ovchinsky (Russia); Head of Department at the Institute of Legislation and Comparative Law under the Government of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation O. A. Zaitsev (Russia); Professor of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Law G. A. Matkarimova (Uzbekistan); Dean of the Faculty of the Prosecutor’s Office under the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic, Doctor of Law, Professor B. D. Rysmendeev (Kyrgyzstan); Honorary Doctor of the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn, Doctor of Law, Professor K. B. Osmonaliev (Kyrgyzstan), and others.

K. Zhetpisov; Director of the School of Law and Public Administration at Narxoz University, Doctor of Law, Professor T. E. Sarsenbayev; Professor of the Academic School of Law “Q” University, Professor of the Department of Law and Business at Z. Tashenov University, Doctor of Law G. R. Rustemova; Acting Professor of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Law A. A. The event is aligned with the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” and SDG 17 “Partnerships for the Goals”, while also contributing to the achievement of SDG 4 “Quality Education”.
