“Personal Data Protection: The Era of Digital Transformation in Modern Kazakh Society.”
On September 26, 2025, the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Forensics at the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Personal Data Protection: The Era of Digital Transformation in Modern Kazakh Society.”
The event was organized by the Kazakhstan Criminological Association, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and Toraighyrov University. The conference brought together leading legal scholars and public figures from Russia, Poland, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan.
Special attention at the conference was given to the role of young researchers, who presented their scientific reports on pressing issues of the digital era.
For instance, Sabina Khalilevna Abdullina, PhD, Associate Professor at the Department of Theory and History of State and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law of KazNU, delivered a report titled “The Ethics of the Digital Society and Prospects for the Protection of Human Rights.” In her presentation, she highlighted the moral challenges of the digital environment and the necessity of finding a balance between technological progress and the protection of individual rights.
Akerke Zheniskyzy Zhakysh, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Forensics, presented a report on “Preventing Fraud through the Use of Digital Technologies,” in which she outlined modern approaches to combating cybercrime and strengthening the legal security of society.
The presentations of young scholars demonstrated the high research potential of the new generation of specialists and their readiness to make a significant contribution to addressing key challenges in ensuring human rights and freedoms in the context of digital transformation.
