SDG 16: Financial Literacy of Youth – A Step Towards a Secure Future!

An informational session dedicated to enhancing students’ financial literacy was held at the Faculties of Journalism, History, and Philology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event featured representatives of one of the country’s leading financial institutions – “Otbasý Bank” JSC, who conducted advisory sessions for students.

During the meeting, bank specialists provided detailed insights on how to effectively plan a personal budget, develop a culture of savings, explore investment opportunities, participate in government programs, and safely use banking services. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions and receive comprehensive answers from the experts.

The speakers emphasized that financial literacy plays a crucial role in every individual’s future and shared practical recommendations on managing personal finances, opening savings accounts, and making efficient use of financial resources.

The faculty-based consultations attracted significant interest from students, many of whom received personalized advice regarding their future financial planning. The information presented is expected to help young people make informed decisions and build a secure financial future.
