Report on the Lecture on Combating Drug Abuse among Youth

On October 1, 2025, at 15:00, a lecture on combating drug abuse among youth was held in Hall No. 416 of the library at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was conducted by representatives of the Almaty City Police Department. The main purpose of the lecture was to inform students about the harmful effects of narcotic substances on human health, introduce measures to combat their illegal circulation, and provide information about the legal liability associated with drug offenses. From the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics, 5 students of the 7M05310 “Physics and Astronomy” educational program and the senior curator-adviser attended the event in full. All participants arrived on time by 14:30 and actively engaged in the session. During the lecture, the police representatives discussed: the harmful impact of narcotic substances on the human body and their psychological dependence, administrative and criminal liability for illegal drug trafficking, the social consequences of drug abuse and preventive measures among youth. In addition, real-life examples and statistical data were presented. Students asked questions and exchanged opinions on the topic. At the end of the lecture, recommendations were given to young people to improve their legal awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle.

In conclusion, the event was well-organized and achieved its intended goals. The topic was fully covered, and students gained comprehensive information about the dangers of drug use and preventive measures. The students of the Department of Electronics and Astrophysics were actively involved in the discussion.
