SDG 3, 10: KazNU Students Brought Festive Joy to the Elderly

Students of the “Kómek” Public Foundation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University visited the “Meirim” Care Home and organized a festive event for the elderly. The main purpose of this noble initiative was to provide spiritual support to senior citizens, assist in their social integration, and foster kindness, compassion, and moral values among young people.

During the event, students arranged a festive evening, performed songs and dances, and showcased their talents. They engaged in open conversations with the elderly, exchanged warm words, and extended heartfelt wishes. Special respect and honor were shown to the residents of the care home.

The elderly shared their life experiences with the students and gave them their blessings. In return, the students emphasized that every life lesson and piece of advice from the older generation serves as a valuable guide in their journey through life.

This visit to the “Meirim” Care Home not only instilled kindness in the hearts of students but also highlighted the importance of respecting elders and caring for the younger. Organizers noted that such charitable initiatives cultivate empathy and responsibility among young people while strengthening intergenerational continuity in society.
