Commemorative Evening for the 90th Anniversary of Kulzhabay Abdikaluly Kassymov

In October 2025, the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics hosted a memorial evening dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Kulzhabay Abdikaluly Kassymov — a distinguished scientist, educator, and former dean of the faculty.

At the event, distinguished scholars of the department — academician Mukhtarbay Otelbayev, and professors Tynysbek Kalmenov, Muratkhan Dauylbayev, and Aidarhan Kaltaev — shared their reflections on Kassymov’s contributions to science, education, and the university’s development. Kassymov once served as dean of the faculty and published foundational works in higher mathematics.

The event underscored for young scientists and students the importance of drawing inspiration from the career of their predecessors and preserving academic continuity.

This evening was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 — “Quality Education” and Goal 9 — “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure,” as it emphasized preserving scientific heritage while spurring future research and educational excellence.
