Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions: Al-Farabi KazNU Students Visit the Almaly District Prosecutor’s Office
As part of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions” and in line with the practice-oriented approach to training future lawyers, on October 7, 2025, students of the Faculty of Law of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, under the supervision of Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Orynbasar Tlepbergenov, visited the Almaly District Prosecutor’s Office of Almaty. During the visit, they took part in an introductory tour and meeting with representatives of the prosecutor’s office.
The main purpose of the event was to deepen students’ understanding of the structure and functions of Kazakhstan’s law enforcement system, the role of the prosecutor’s office in ensuring legality, justice, and the rule of law in society.
According to Professor Orynbasar Tlepbergenov, “For a future lawyer, it is important not only to know the law but also to understand how it operates in real life. Such field-based lessons allow students to see the work of law enforcement agencies from the inside, strengthen their professional values, and appreciate the significance of their future profession.”
These initiatives help integrate theoretical knowledge with practice, develop students’ legal culture, analytical thinking, and professional motivation. The visit also promotes key values such as justice, integrity, and civic responsibility, inspiring young people to serve their country and society.
The Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminology of the Faculty of Law at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University continues to implement educational initiatives aimed at training highly qualified specialists ready to contribute to strengthening the rule of law and good governance in accordance with the principles of UN SDG No. 16.
