SDG 17. Partnerships for the Goals KazNU and the Consulate General of Turkey in Partnership: Free Turkish Language Courses Launched for Students

Within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goal “Partnerships for Sustainable Development,” a new and significant initiative has been launched at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In collaboration with the Department of Turkology of the Faculty of Philology and the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty, free offline Turkish language courses for students at the A1 and A2 levels have officially begun.
This project represents an important step toward strengthening international cooperation in education and fostering cultural ties. The opening ceremony of the language courses was attended by Ayhan Korkmaz, Head of the Education Department of the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Almaty, who extended his warm wishes to the students.
In his remarks, Ayhan Korkmaz emphasized the importance of friendship and partnership between the two nations, highlighting the shared cultural and historical values that unite the Kazakh and Turkish peoples. He also encouraged students to contribute to mutual understanding and cultural exchange through learning the Turkish language.
The free courses, organized by the Department of Turkology, offer students the opportunity to learn Turkish from the beginner level while gaining a deeper understanding of Turkish culture and literature. The classes are conducted by experienced instructors using modern teaching methods and interactive techniques.
This initiative stands as a vivid example of the implementation of one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals — ensuring quality education and strengthening international partnerships.
