KazNU Welcomed First-Year Students with AI Participation in a Grand Ceremony
On October 10, 2025, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held its traditional Student Induction Ceremony in an innovative format featuring Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the first time.
The event was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek, Chairman of the KazNU Board of Directors Kairat Mami, Chairman of the Board – Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev, Senate Deputy Bibigul Zhexsenbai, and Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty Jiang Wei, along with other distinguished guests.
Minister Nurbek congratulated the freshmen and noted:
“KazNU is not just an educational institution — it is a center of science, innovation, and personal development. As President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized, young people must be patriotic, educated, hardworking, fair, and compassionate. KazNU plays a vital role in shaping such a generation.”
Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev encouraged the students with the words of the great philosopher al-Farabi:
“If you want your work to be successful, become a master of your craft. I am confident that you will grow into educated, responsible, and devoted citizens of your country.”
In 2025, 11,530 students were admitted to KazNU, including 116 “Altyn Belgi” medalists and 27 international olympiad winners. More than 2,500 international students have also chosen to study at the university.
The ceremony featured creative performances from KazNU branch students and concluded with a concert by Kazakh pop stars and a lively student dance evening.
