Artificial Intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals: New Opportunities for Youth
On 14.10, 2025, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law S.M. Zhapakov held a roundtable with active students of the Faculty of Law on the topic "Artificial Intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals: New Opportunities for Youth". The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Candidate of Sciences, Professor U.A. Akhatov, Head of Department, Doctor of Sciences, Professor G.A. Kuanalieva, and the department’s faculty members, who highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in society and the issues of enhancing youth’s social responsibility.
The purpose of the event was to explain to students the interconnection between artificial intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals, and to encourage them to effectively apply innovative technologies. Participants discussed the impact of technologies on social, economic, and environmental spheres, emphasizing the need for active youth participation in these processes.
During the meeting, the potential of artificial intelligence in advancing sustainable development goals, ways to ensure social justice and environmental sustainability were examined. Ethical aspects of technology and opportunities to increase societal responsibility were also discussed. This event inspired students to contribute to establishing a harmonious relationship between technology and society in the future.
