SDG 16: Law and Order: Fundamentals of Financial Literacy and Financial Security

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted a meeting with students on the topic “Law and Order: Fundamentals of Financial Literacy and Financial Security”. The event was attended by a team of specialists from the Department of Economic Investigations of Almaty, led by Myrzakhan Zhaksylyk, Senior Operative Officer for Major Cases.

During the session, the experts discussed the importance of financial literacy in both personal and public life and highlighted the most common types of fraud. They also shared valuable advice on identifying financial pyramid schemes and fake giveaways on social media, as well as effective ways to protect oneself from such threats.

Using real-life examples, the specialists encouraged students to be mindful of their financial security and to avoid trusting suspicious offers.

At the end of the event, students asked their questions and received detailed answers. A Q&A session was organized to reinforce the information, and the most active participants were awarded special gifts.

The event aimed to enhance students’ legal and financial awareness, fostering responsibility and vigilance in ensuring their personal financial safety.
