Representing Indonesia and Kazakhstan at ISWI 2025: A Week of Global Dialogue and Impact

16 october, 2025

Yodida Marchiannisa Arif, a 4th-year student from the Economics Department at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, proudly represented both Indonesia and Kazakhstan at the prestigious International Student Week in Ilmenau (ISWI) 2025, held from June 13–20, 2025, at Technische Universität Ilmenau, Germany.

This year’s theme — “Sharing Power, Giving Opportunities, Enabling Participation” — brought together over 300 students from more than 70 countries, providing a unique platform for cross-cultural dialogue, academic collaboration, and discussions on pressing global challenges.

Yodida joined the “Fair Economy and Sustainability” working group alongside 15 other participants from Angola, Brazil, Costa Rica, Liechtenstein, Myanmar, Morocco, Pakistan, and others. Together, they explored how global economic systems can evolve to promote equity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Participating in ISWI 2025 became a transformative academic and cultural experience for Yodida. It deepened her understanding of economic sustainability, enhanced her intercultural communication, and empowered her to apply economic theory to real-world issues.

Through her remarkable contributions, Yodida Marchiannisa Arif not only represented two nations, but also became a strong and inspiring voice for fairness, inclusion, and global cooperation.
