At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, meetings between students and creative professionals have become a tradition.
Future journalists had the opportunity to meet with experienced specialists working in the field of television series, who create thought-provoking content for viewers.

Continuity is important in every field.
The experience of the older generation is an invaluable school for the youth. During the meeting, students got acquainted with the creative paths of television veterans who had worked for many years at the "Khabar" TV channel — Arman Skabyluly, Kainar Olzha, Serik Zhanbolat, and Serik Abas-Shakh. They listened to advice on how to produce television content. For example, Arman Skabyluly shared the intricacies of writing scripts and producing TV series.

Arman Skabyluly, veteran journalist and producer:

"Here we have true masters of television series. This is more than just a meeting. Recently, the Faculty of Journalism has started addressing the topic of television series. It’s good to see faculty members involved in this. As you know, TV series have been produced for many years, but until now, journalism faculties have not trained specialists in this field. Mostly, graduates of the Zhurgenov Academy or specialists from other areas were responsible for that."

Currently, 221 students are studying Cinema & Media at the Faculty of Journalism. They are mastering areas such as film history, film criticism, and screenwriting. Academic education plays a key role in developing the national film industry and creating modern, creative products in the cinema and media sector.

Tansholpan Sharipbai, 3rd-year student:

"Meeting with such prominent figures greatly helps us improve our skills in directing and scriptwriting. I believe that in the future, we will be able to contribute to Kazakh journalism and cinema."

At the end of the meeting, five students who asked insightful questions and shared thoughtful opinions were awarded a one-time scholarship on behalf of the "Kazakh Literary Novel" public association.
