The issues of the humanities are considered
The international scientific and theoretical conference "Literature, Folklore and mythology of the Turkic-speaking peoples and current problems of modern humanities" was held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
The event is dedicated to the anniversary of the scientist, researcher of mythology and folklore studies, academician of the International Academy of Social Sciences named after Sh.Aitmatov, International Academy of Informatization, Doctor of Philology Almasbek Maulenov. The conference was attended by Kazakhstani and foreign scientists, teachers and young scientists of Kazakhstan.
The conference was opened by the Secretary of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan, Chief Researcher of the Abai Institute at KazNU, Professor Kanseit Abdezuly. He read out congratulatory letters from Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakhytzhan Zhumagulov, President of the National Engineering Academy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mereke Kulkenov, Chairman of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan.

Kanseit Abdezuly noted the scientific path of Almasbek Maulenov, emphasizing that under his leadership, the Abai Institute held scientific and methodological seminars "Abaytanu" for teachers of universities, secondary schools and gymnasiums. These events were organized with the aim of publishing the 50-volume collected works of Abai Kunanbayev and popularizing his work.
"Since 2018, Almasbek Maulenov has been the head of the Zhambyl Zhabayev Scientific Research Center for Kazakh Folklore and Literature. His contribution to the development of philological science is invaluable. The scientist has published scientific monographs "The use of myths and legends in Kazakh prose", "Folklore and the mythological paradigm in the literature of the Turkic peoples", 4 textbooks, published more than 100 scientific articles. For many years Almasbek Anykbekuly has been working in the field of science, successfully combining scientific productivity and methodological training of teachers, promoting Turkology and Kazakh literature at the national level",- said Kanseit Abdezuly.

During the plenary session, Almasbek Maulenov's books were presented: a collection in 10 volumes dedicated to the 210th anniversary of Aronula, monographs "Folklore. Myth. Literature", "Folklore and mythology in the literature of the Turkic-speaking peoples".

Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kazbek Isa, Director of the Abai Institute at KazNU, Professor Zhangara Dadebayev and others also addressed the plenary session. Further, the work of the conference continued in breakout sessions.
The event was organized by the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Philological Faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Scientific Center for the Study of Kazakh Folklore and Literature named after Zhambyl Zhabayev.
