In honor of Republic Day, celebrated on October 25, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized the “Golden Autumn” fair to promote national handicraft traditions and to provide university staff and students with the opportunity to purchase food products and fruits at discounted prices.
All university faculties and students took part in the festive event. Among them were the Department of Pre-University Training and its startup projects — “Textile Production,” “Jewelry Production,” “Young Painter” — as well as the “Zhas Sheber” (“Young Master”) club. Within the framework of SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, young artisans presented handmade crafts at the “Golden Autumn” celebration.
The purpose of the event was to promote and teach traditional handicrafts to university students and to familiarize them with various forms of applied arts.
The exhibition featured handmade items such as knitted toys for children, dresses for little girls, bags, home slippers, jewelry, and artworks created by young painters.
