An International Scientific and Practical Conference Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty – Republic Day of Kazakhstan Was Held

On October 23, the Al-Farabi Library hosted an international scientific and practical conference dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty – Republic Day of Kazakhstan, titled “The Declaration of State Sovereignty and Contemporary Kazakhstan: Challenges, Achievements, and Horizons of Sustainable Development.”

As part of the event, the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science organized a sectional meeting titled “State Sovereignty as a Value: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Challenges and Prospects.”

The moderator of the session was Dean of the Faculty – Bekzhan Meirbayev,

The session addressed key issues related to sovereignty, secularism, national culture, and the value foundations of modern society. The speakers included faculty members and young scholars:

  • Kakimzhan  Bishmanov, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor — “Secularism as a Component of Sovereignty”;
  • Gulzhikhan Nurysheva, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor — “Kazakh National Values and Modernity”;
  • Aliya Omirbekova, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Associate Professor — “Globalization of Education and the Preservation of National Cultural Values”;
  • Abai Duissenbayev, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor — “Cultural and Ideological Threats in the Context of Preserving State Independence”;
  • Kuanishbai Almatay, 1st-year PhD student in Psychology — “Understanding Sovereignty in the Minds of Youth: Media, Trends, Ideology, and the Struggle for Values”;
  • Dinmukhamed Baizhuma, 2nd-year Master’s student in Philosophy — “State Sovereignty as a Philosophical and Legal Category.”

During the conference, participants discussed the spiritual and social foundations of state sovereignty, the contemporary significance of national values, and mechanisms for safeguarding independence.

The event served as a platform for dialogue between young and experienced researchers and contributed to a deeper reflection on the value orientations of independent Kazakhstan.
