Student in the performance "Kulager"

As part of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals under the direction of “Quality Education”, on October 25, 2025, the senior curator of the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Zh.N. Kazieva, together with first-year curators G.M. Sembayeva and G.M. Konaeva, organized a visit for first-year students to the G. Musrepov State Youth Theatre, where they attended the play “Kulyager” based on the work of Ilyas Zhansugurov.

The play “Kulyager” is one of the most prominent works of Kazakh literature and theatre art. The production is based on Ilyas Zhansugurov’s poem of the same name. The main themes of both the poem and the play are human injustice, national pride, defeat, as well as the nobility of art and the spirit of heroism. “Kulyager” is not only the tragedy of one man, but also a symbol of the loss of national consciousness and spirit.

The performance conveyed to the audience the ideas of justice and kindness, the unity of man and nature, and spiritual freedom. The students greatly enjoyed the play and expressed their desire to visit the theatre more often in the future.
