Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with Stephen Barnes, Deputy Dean of the Law Faculty of the University of Pennsylvania.
At the meeting, the parties discussed the preparatory work for the establishment of a joint scientific institute based on the Faculty of Law of KazNU.
Zhanseit Tuimebayev informed the guest of honor about the latest achievements of the university. In his speech, the rector noted that the partnership between KazNU and the University of Pennsylvania has reached a new level.
"Cooperation between the two educational institutions is developing dynamically. KazNU has carried out work on updating the classrooms necessary for the institute. Next year, we plan to start accepting young students. In the future, we must turn the institute into a large scientific center", - said the rector.
In turn, Stephen Barnes thanked for the attention and shared his plans for the future. "The institute, which is being opened on the basis of KazNU, is a product of a bilateral partnership. I believe that the center contributes to increasing the international prestige of al-Farabi Kazakh National University. In the near future, the institute will be visited and lectured by 30 professors from the USA, Canada, Great Britain and other countries. Kazakh scientists will also be among them," Stephen Barnes said.
At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to approve a special work plan and establish a working group.
