Strengthening cooperation with the Chinese Computer Federation

29 october, 2025

Madina Mansurova, PhD, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, made a presentation at the Kazakh-Chinese International Forum on Cooperation in the Field of Computer Technology.

The China National Computer Congress (CNCC) is one of the largest and most prestigious scientific forums in the world. In 2025, the CNCC included more than 140 sections and gathered over 12,000 participants. The event is organized by the China Computer Federation (CCF), the second largest academic association in the world. CCF actively cooperates with leading scientific and professional organizations such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and the IEEE Computer Society, as well as with major technology companies including Huawei, Tencent, Alibaba and Lenovo.

Since August 2025, KazNU has been actively developing a partnership with CCF. The beginning was the successful holding of a joint seminar on large language models, organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. Within a month, more than 100 university professors became CCF members. Membership provides access to the federation's digital library, discounts on IEEE and ACM subscriptions, and opportunities for collaboration with the world's leading IT companies.

CCF plays an important role as a bridge between education and industry. Last year alone, more than 250 student startups received financial support totaling over $15 million thanks to the initiatives of the federation.

Following the talks with the CCF President, the possibility of opening a Kazakhstan branch of the federation on the basis of KazNU was discussed. The decision to create a CCF Membership Hall at the university has also been confirmed, where monthly meetings are planned with the participation of the world's leading experts from academic and industrial fields.

During the forum, Dr. Madina Mansurova, as one of the main speakers, presented the results of her research on the topic: "AI assistant in journalism: automation of editorial processes using large language models for Kazakhstani newsrooms".

In her speech, she demonstrated the latest achievements in the development and practical application of Kazakh language models.
