The paradigm of sustainable economic development

The Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held the 3rd International Scientific and Practical Conference titled “The Paradigm of Sustainable Economic Development in the Context of Global Changes: Challenges, Consequences, Opportunities”.

The conference was aimed at bringing together the academic community, representatives of government bodies, and business sectors to exchange knowledge, research, and practical, targeted solutions in the field of sustainable development of states under conditions of global transformation. Scholars from Türkiye, the UAE, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Italy, Finland, Malaysia, New Zealand, and other countries took part in the event.

At the plenary session, presentations were delivered by Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “Otbası Bank” N.S. Akshanov on the topic “How Otbası Bank Changes People’s Lives for the Better: Social and Green Programs”, representatives of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market — A.L. Terentyev, and L.E. Usenbekova, Director for Consumer Rights Protection of the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan.

Noteworthy scientific presentations were made by Dr. A.V. Lukina, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of Marketing at RUDN University (Moscow), on the topic “Research on the Factors of Pro-Environmental Transport Behavior of Individuals” and Dr. B.M. Mukhamediev, Professor of the Department of Economics at the Higher School of Economics and Business of Al-Farabi KazNU, on the topic “Dynamics of Consumer Demand in Crisis and Post-Crisis Periods: International Trends and the Experience of Kazakhstan”, both of which are related to the tasks of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The reports of the speakers also addressed relevant issues regarding the use of artificial intelligence in education to train highly qualified and competitive specialists in the context of global integration of states.

As a result of the conference, a platform was established for further interaction among participants, exchange of scientific developments, and partnership cooperation in the field of academic mobility for students and faculty of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The 4th International Farabi Forum became a unique platform for the unification of scientific ideas, exchange of experience, and development of practical solutions in the face of global challenges. It demonstrated the high importance of cooperation among science, education, business, and government institutions in achieving the goals of sustainable development.
