Lecture on cryogenics and sustainable energy
As part of the pedagogical practice at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, an open lecture was held for second-year students of the “Standardization and Certification” educational program.
The event was organized and conducted by lecturers of the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics. The lecture topic, “The Future of Cryogenics in Sustainable Energy Solutions,” was chosen considering the relevance of modern environmental challenges and the push towards enhanced energy efficiency.
During the lecture, the following points were discussed:
-
Basic principles of cryogenic technologies;
-
Their applications in energy and industry;
-
The role of Cryogenic Carbon Capture (CCC) in reducing emissions;
-
Examples of cryogenic solutions implemented in various countries.
The lecture format included an English-language presentation, interactive discussion, and student Q&A. About 20 students participated. The lecture sparked great interest and served as an example of an interdisciplinary approach, combining engineering knowledge with issues of sustainable development.
Events like this contribute to broadening students’ perspectives on modern technologies, developing critical thinking, and stimulating professional motivation.
Photographs and video fragments from the lecture are planned for publication on the university’s and department’s official pages.
