On October 30, 2025, the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a solemn event dedicated to “Republic of Turkey Day – October 29”. The main goal of the event was to further strengthen cultural and spiritual ties between Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as to develop cooperation between Turkic peoples.
During the event, welcoming speeches were given by the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Ms. Tugba Alan Ozdenfedakar, and the Attaché for Education of the Republic of Turkey in Kazakhstan, Mr. Aykhan Korkmaz. They noted that cooperation between the two countries in the educational and cultural spheres is steadily expanding and strengthening, that academic mobility programs and joint projects are opening up new opportunities for teachers and students to exchange experiences between countries.
During the festive evening, students and teachers performed heartfelt poems and monologues by poets, giving the event a special atmosphere of inspiration and unity. The invited guests and faculty emphasized the importance of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
A welcome speech was also given by the chief expert of the Department of International Cooperation and Internationalization of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, university representative Skendirbek Zhunisov, who congratulated all participants on behalf of the university on the Day of the Republic of Turkey.
In conclusion, the participants honored the memory of the Great Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, emphasizing the importance of his ideas in preserving the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world. A. Khalel, Head of the Department of Turkology and History of the Eastern Countries, congratulated everyone on Turkey's national holiday and expressed confidence in the further development and deepening of bilateral relations.

The program ended with an open question and answer session, during which students asked guests questions about the education system, cultural life, and opportunities for academic mobility in Turkey. The guests expressed their gratitude for the students' enthusiasm and interest in Turkish culture.
The event ended with a kind wish: “May the friendly relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Republic of Turkey grow stronger forever!” This day became a symbol not only of Turkey's national celebration, but also of the common joy of all Turkic peoples. The friendship between Turkey and Kazakhstan is a strong bond, deeply rooted in history and directed toward the future.
