As part of the UN project's "Partnerships for Sustainable Development" section, Iranian studies lecturers and students participated in an event at the National Library

On October 30, a literary and musical evening titled "Rudaki and Ferdowsi – the Eternal Stars of Persian Literature" was held at the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, commemorating the 1165th anniversary of the birth of the great Persian poet Rudaki and the 1085th anniversary of the great poet Ferdowsi. The event was held with the direct support of the Cultural Representation under the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty. The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Almaty, Mrs. Sona Ahmadi, and the Head of the Cultural Representation, Mr. Hossein Agazadeh, delivered speeches at the event. Faculty and students of the Iranian Studies section of the Department of Middle East and South Asia actively participated in the program.  The head of the Iranian Studies program, A.Zh. Boranbayeva, and second-year Master's student G. Omarkhanova gave presentations. Second-year student R. Adilov performed a song in Persian. Students also recited poems by Rudaki and Ferdowsi in Persian and took part in a theatrical performance.
