Meeting Dedicated to the Republic Day of Türkiye Held at Al-Farabi University

On October 30, 2025, a meaningful meeting took place at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Türkiye in Almaty. The event was dedicated to Türkiye’s national holiday – Republic Day (October 29). The main goal was to strengthen academic cooperation between KazNU and Turkish partners, promote joint educational initiatives, and expand student mobility.

Fourth-year students of the “Standardization and Certification” program from the Faculty of Physics and Technology actively participated, professionally moderating the discussions. The open dialogue covered topics such as academic exchange, development of joint courses and short-term schools, and enhancing practice-oriented learning.

The Consul General of Türkiye in Almaty, Tuğba Alan Özdenfedakar, and Education Attaché Ayhan Korkmaz delivered welcoming remarks, highlighting new opportunities for educational collaboration. Professor Savaş Şahin emphasized the importance of mastering international standards and engaging students in industrial practice at early stages.

The event was coordinated by Associate Professor Gulnara Taimanova from the Department of Thermophysics and Technical Physics. Turkish language courses are regularly conducted at the department. Future plans include expanding joint lecture and workshop cycles, providing systematic advisory support for students preparing to study and intern in Türkiye, and developing integrated language modules.

At the end of the meeting, the KazNU team expressed sincere gratitude to the Consulate General of Türkiye and all participants for their support of student initiatives and fruitful cooperation.
