Cultural Heritage – The Foundation of National Spirit

On October 29–30, 2025, a national seminar dedicated to the promotion of elements of the Intangible Cultural Heritage inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List was held in Almaty for representatives of higher education institutions.
The main goal of the event was to raise awareness about the cultural heritage elements of Kazakhstan recognized by UNESCO and to explore ways of integrating them into educational programs. During the seminar, participants discussed the significance of elements such as the art of Aitys, the tradition of yurt-making, Kazakh horse culture, and traditional kuy music schools.
The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Information, the Kazakhstan Institute of Public Development for UNESCO.
