Expanding International Cooperation: Meeting with a Representative of the University of Poitiers
A meeting with Professor Frédéric Richard, Director of International Relations at the University of Poitiers, was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was held as part of the development of international cooperation in education and science under the Erasmus+ programme.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, as well as the Department of Physical Chemistry, Catalysis and Petrochemistry of Al-Farabi KazNU.
The discussion focused on the prospects for joint research in the field of catalysis, the use of shared laboratory resources, the expansion of academic mobility and the implementation of educational programmes in chemistry and petrochemistry.
The parties expressed mutual interest in strengthening partnerships, developing joint scientific and educational initiatives and participating in international Erasmus+ projects.
Cooperation between the University of Poitiers, one of the oldest universities in Europe, and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is an important step towards the integration of Kazakh science and education into the European academic space.
This meeting also contributes to the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular:
• SDG 4 — Quality education (development of academic mobility and international educational programmes)
• SDG 9 — Industry, innovation and infrastructure (shared use of research infrastructure and scientific cooperation)
• SDG 17 — Partnerships for sustainable development (strengthening international academic ties and participating in global initiatives)
