Librarian’s Day: The Gateway to Knowledge and Culture

On October 27, 2025, third-year students of the Economicseducational program at the Higher School of Economics andBusiness, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, held a curatorial hour dedicated to Librarian’s Day. The purpose of theevent was to promote the role of books and libraries in society, foster a culture of reading among youth, and enhance interest inspiritual and cultural values. During the curatorial hour, studentsdiscussed modern youth’s attitude toward reading, the role oflibraries in the digital age, and the importance of developinginformation literacy.

This event aligns with the United Nations SustainableDevelopment Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 - Quality Education, SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities, SDG 17 - Partnerships for the Goals.

Such discussions and meetings help students developcritical thinking, cultural literacy, and collaborative analyticalskills.
