The Second “One Belt, One Road” Forum of Deans of Computer Science Faculties Held in Almaty

On September 18, Almaty hosted the Second “One Belt, One Road” Forum of Deans of Computer Science Faculties, organized by Northwestern Polytechnical University (China) in cooperation with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the School of Computer Science of NPU, and the Kazakhstan Branch of NPU.

The forum became an important step in strengthening international cooperation in computer science and artificial intelligence, promoting joint research and educational initiatives among countries along the “Belt and Road.”

The program included keynote speeches and roundtable discussions on expanding educational innovation, integrating computer science with artificial intelligence, and exploring the future of learning in the era of AI and the educational metaverse.

Among the participants were prominent scientists and academic leaders, including Timur Imankulov, Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology at KazNU, and Madina Mansurova, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at KazNU, as well as representatives from top universities in China, Mongolia, and Hong Kong.

Experts shared their perspectives on the evolution of computer science in the age of AI, regional technology partnerships, interdisciplinary research, and the potential of generative artificial intelligence in education.
