KazNU Delegation Participated in an International Conference on Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language in Central Asia
With the aim of promoting the development of Chinese language teaching between China and the countries of Central Asia, enhancing academic cooperation, and improving the quality of language education, on October 31, 2025, in Urumqi (PRC), the Institute of International Cultural Exchange of Xinjiang University held the international conference “Development of the Discipline of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language and International Cooperation.” The event gathered representatives of leading universities from China and Central Asia, researchers, and specialists in the field of Chinese language education and international academic exchange.
From Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Faculty of Oriental Studies was represented by Dean Assoc. Prof. M. Sh. Egamberdiyev and Head of the Department of Chinese Studies, F. Orazakynkyzy. At the plenary session, F. Orazakynkyzy delivered a presentation highlighting the current trends in teaching Chinese in Kazakhstan, the integration of educational programs, and prospects for cooperation with Chinese universities.
Participation in this conference contributed to strengthening KazNU’s international academic partnerships, exchanging methodological experience, and expanding humanitarian and cultural ties between China and the countries of Central Asia.
