On October 31, 2025, the Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, organized an engaging and informative seminar titled “Scientific Approaches to Research Methods.”
The main goal of the event was to exchange experience among young researchers, discuss modern methods of scientific research, and develop joint online projects with Turkish colleagues.
The seminar was opened by the Head of the Department, Halel Agnur, who wished all participants fruitful work. As a special guest, Professor Hacı Ahmet Şimşek, Doctor of Philosophy from Kastamonu University (Turkey), joined the event via Zoom and delivered a lecture on “İlmî Araştırma Usulleri” (“Scientific Research Methods”).
First-year master’s students of the department also shared their research experiences:
- Arlan Aner – “Experience Working with Google Scholar and English- and Russian-Language Sources”;
- D. Begissayeva – “Features of Using Scientific Sources in Turkish and Kazakh”;
- I. Shakipzada – “Theoretical Research Methods and Analytical Approaches.”
During the meeting, participants discussed in detail both theoretical and practical aspects of scientific inquiry, actively exchanging opinions and useful insights.
