A round table on the topic: "Sustainable development of accounting and auditing in the era of global change: Transformation of ESG financial reporting"

The Department of Finance and Accounting of the Higher School of Economics and Business of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a round table on the topic on November 5, 2025 at 3 p.m. within the framework of Al-Farabi Week and on the eve of the Day of Accountants and Auditors of the Republic of Kazakhstan: "Sustainable development of accounting and auditing in the era of global change: Transformation of ESG financial reporting". The round table was also aimed at the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 – Quality education, SDG 8 – Decent work and economic growth.The purpose of the round table is to develop partnership between the HSE faculty and young scientists, representatives of public organizations and practitioners, aimed at solving specific, topical issues in the field of auditing in the context of digitalization, involving students of the Higher School of Economics and Business in solving practical accounting and auditing issues.

The management of the Higher School, represented by Dean Yermekova Zhanna Zhandarbekovna, Deputy Dean for Science and Innovation Kanagatova Dina Bauberikova, Director of the Department of Economics and Finance Makashova Asem Zhanabekovna, faculty of the department, doctoral and undergraduates met with representatives of the professional sphere, discussed the possibilities of sustainable development in the field of accounting and auditing. Timur Anuarovich Abiev, Director of the Academy, acted as business partners from the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Kazakhstan. "Учет.kz " Mikhail Anatolyevich Baryshev, Director of KPMG Caucasus and Central Asia Temirgalieva Assel Kasimalievna, Chief Accountant of the Almaty branch of JSC Intergaz Asia Abisheva Zhumakul Abylkasimovna shared their thoughts, listened to the reports of doctoral students and undergraduates.

Such interactions, exchange of experience, and modern ideas make it possible to identify mechanisms for ensuring the sustainable development of accounting and auditing.
