SDG 8. Decent Work and Economic Growth

8 november, 2025

The second-year students of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics majoring in Actuarial Mathematics held a class on the topic “Decent Work and Economic Growth.” Divided into groups, the students discussed the importance of decent work and its impact on the quality of human life.

In their presentations, the students explored issues such as the level of wages and the influence of economic growth on everyday life. They noted that higher salaries do not always lead to better living standards, as economic growth is often accompanied by rising prices for food, clothing, and other goods.

Special attention was given to the problem of employment in one’s specialty. The students emphasized that graduates are often forced to work outside their profession due to a shortage of suitable jobs. In addition, they presented their own business projects, demonstrating how to start a business with minimal investment.

The class was both interesting and informative. It inspired students to reflect on how to create a business that ensures a decent standard of living, meets basic needs, and helps achieve financial stability in the future.
