The event was part of the conference’s cultural and educational program and aimed at exchanging experience in biodiversity conservation, botanical research, and the development of ecotourism.

During the visit, staff members of the Botanical Garden delivered presentations on the conservation of floral diversity, environmental education, and the role of botanical gardens in implementing the principles of sustainable development:

  3. T.Sh. Murzataeva — “The contribution of the seed bank to biodiversity conservation” (Kazakhstan);
  4. L.D. Dimeyeva — “Cadastral assessment of the current ecological state of the flora of the Almaty region” (Kazakhstan).

The participants explored collections of rare and endemic plants, as well as projects on green restoration and the preservation of plant genetic resources.

Special attention was given to the role of botanical gardens as scientific and educational centers contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 13 – Climate Action, SDG 15 – Life on Land, and SDG 17 – Partnership for the Goals.

The visit to the Botanical Garden became an important platform for international knowledge exchange and for strengthening cooperation among Central Asian countries in the field of nature conservation and sustainable development.
