SDG-16: KazNU Students Promote the Rule of Law and Enhance Their Legal Literacy
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held the “Legal Dictation” event aimed at enhancing students’ legal literacy and fostering a culture of respect for the law.
The initiative was organized in accordance with the instruction of the Committee for Higher and Postgraduate Education dated October 20, 2025, and implemented within the framework of the national challenge “The Law Begins with You.”
Students from 15 university faculties actively participated, covering 450 undergraduates in total. Among them were:

Faculty of Pre-University Education – 50 students;

Faculty of Journalism – 25 students;

Faculty of Philology – 20 students;

Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management – 40 students;

Faculty of Medicine and Healthcare – 25 students;

Faculty of Oriental Studies – 20 students;

Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology – 73 students;

Faculty of International Relations – 25 students;

Faculty of History – 24 students;

Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science – 25 students;

Faculty of Information Technology – 30 students;

Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics – 25 students;

Higher School of Economics and Business – 20 students;

Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology – 24 students;
-
Faculty of Physics and Technology – 24 students.
The event was conducted across all faculties under the guidance of the experienced teaching staff of the Faculty of Law. Participants had the opportunity to assess their knowledge in the field of law and deepen their understanding of legal norms and principles.
The primary goal of the “Legal Dictation” was to increase young people's legal awareness, foster respect and responsibility toward the law, and strengthen civic engagement and legal culture.
The initiative received wide support from the university community. The event not only enhanced students’ legal competence but also contributed significantly to promoting civic responsibility and the values of the rule of law.
