SDG 1, 10: KazNU Students Participate in Charity Fair
At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, within the framework of the “Festive Autumn” fair, a charity fair was organized by the “Komek” public foundation. The event aimed to enhance students’ social responsibility, foster a culture of charity, and provide assistance to those in need.
Students actively participated in the fair, offering homemade dishes, sweet treats, compotes, and a variety of handicrafts.
The funds raised from the fair will be allocated to several areas:
-
To meet the needs of children at orphanages and the elderly at the “Meirim” home for senior citizens;
-
To support students from socially disadvantaged families by covering educational essentials and dormitory fees.
This initiative contributed to strengthening students’ civic engagement, social responsibility, and culture of helping others. In addition, the event provided students with an opportunity to develop community values, teamwork, creativity, and entrepreneurial skills.
Charity fairs play an important role in fulfilling the university’s social mission. Through such events, students cultivate moral values, promote compassion and empathy in society, and reinforce the university community’s engagement with the broader public.
