On November 8, 2025, a working meeting of scientists and researchers was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University following the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Problems and Prospects of Biodiversity Conservation in Central Asia.”

Representatives from Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan took part in the discussion. The meeting addressed prospects for developing international cooperation in the field of biodiversity conservation and proposed ways to jointly implement scientific projects.

One of the key topics discussed was the project “Impact of Urban Flora on Environmental Decarbonization in Europe and Central Asia and the Development of Smart Green Zone Models within the Framework of Sustainable Development Goal 15.” The project theme was recognized as highly relevant in the context of urbanization, increasing resource consumption, and the need to adapt to climate change.

Special attention was given to the initiative for implementing the project “Study of the Impact of Urban Soils in Germany and Central Asia on Vegetation under Anthropogenic Influence and Development of Methods for Soil Improvement without Chemical Fertilizers.”

This area is of great importance for finding environmentally safe solutions in the field of green space conservation and restoration.

“Joint research will help develop scientifically based approaches to improving the quality of urban soils and enhancing vegetation resilience through natural and biotechnological methods,” noted the participants.

The outcomes of the meeting marked an important step in strengthening international scientific cooperation and defined the directions for further collaboration within biodiversity conservation and sustainable development initiatives.
