A round table on SDG 3, SDG 11 "Quality education" was held at the Department of Health Policy and Organization

On October 27, 2025, a round table was held at the Department of Health Policy and Organization, organized under the guidance of senior lecturer Nayla Toktarova by the 1st-year doctoral students of the specialty "8D10101 – Public Health" Yermek Mendybaev and Gulsana Musagalaieva (the tutor is the senior lecturer Altynay Balmukhanova). The event was held as part of a cycle of activities dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 3 "Good health and well-being", 11 "Sustainable cities and human settlements" on the topic "Healthy cities and tax mechanisms for the control of noncommunicable diseases"

The participants discussed key issues of such determinants of health as urbanization, environmental, and social factors. Special attention was paid to the role of the state and regulatory tax mechanisms (taxes on tobacco, salt, and sugar).

In the final part, a discussion was held on the implementation of Global Strategies in the Republic of Kazakhstan (the Ottawa Charter, Green Cities).

The event highlighted the importance of involving young researchers in the discussion of global challenges and the development of practical solutions in the field of medicine and healthcare.
