Career Guidance Meeting for High School Students Held at the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi KazNU

SDG-17 On November 15,2025, the Department of Print and Electronic Media of the Faculty of Journalism at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held a career guidance meeting for students of Qalam High School.

The guests were introduced to the faculty’s educational environment, which combines fundamental academic training with real media practice. The high school students attended classes taught by researcher and associate professor Rimma Zhaksylykbayeva, as well as practicing journalist and senior lecturer Serik Zhanbolat. This combination of theory and practice allowed the students to see how the professional training of future journalists is formed and became a strong motivational factor for those considering applying for a creative specialty.

During the tour, the students also visited the M. Barmankulov office and laboratory, specialized classrooms, and the faculty’s creative spaces.

The Faculty of Journalism emphasizes that career guidance work is carried out on a regular basis, and the department is open to anyone interested in media and wishing to learn more about the profession. Since the specialty is creative, applicants will need to take creative entrance exams. All requirements, deadlines, and necessary documents are available on the official KazNU website.
