Saka Monuments of Eastern Kazakhstan: Inter-University Scientific Presentation
On November 12, 2025, Samat Talgatuly Shakenov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology, and Museology at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, delivered a guest lecture at the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University entitled “Saka Monuments of Eastern Kazakhstan: New Discoveries and Interdisciplinary Research Results.”
The event was organized at the initiative of the Department of General Education Disciplines and was dedicated to discussing the latest results of research on Saka-period monuments in Eastern Kazakhstan, as well as the scientific potential of interdisciplinary methods in archaeology.
During the lecture, data were presented from recent fieldwork, radiocarbon analyses, archaeozoological and isotopic studies, as well as 3D digitalization techniques.
This meeting not only provided university students with comprehensive information on new scientific directions in archaeological research but also served as an important component of career guidance within master’s and doctoral programs. For those interested in archaeology, interdisciplinary anthropological studies, and the preservation of Kazakhstan’s historical and cultural heritage, the lecture outlined possible future scientific trajectories.
