A journey into the world of detective

The fourth-year students majoring in Literary Studies, together with the faculty members of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology, held a meeting within the framework of SDG 4  together with   Erkingul Soltanayeva and Shokan Shortanbay. The event topic was  “A Journey into the World of Detective Fiction” and featured writer Gülden Zhilkeldiyeva, winner of the Kémel Tokayev Detective Fiction Prize.

The purpose of the meeting was to become more closely acquainted with the writer’s work and to explore the intricacies of the detective genre. During the session, the author spoke about the history behind her works and discussed her writing techniques. Every word she shared reflected her genuine love for literature and her deep sense of creative responsibility.

Students who were familiar with her works freely expressed their thoughts both as emerging scholars and as mature readers.

The author, in turn, warmly welcomed the students’ interest and answered their questions sincerely. At the end of the meeting, the students expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the writer and wished her success in her future creative endeavors.
