Today, the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies held a curator’s session at one of Almaty’s museums. The session was attended by faculty members Kuderina A. N., S. M. Kaupembaeva, S. E. Kudaibergenov, N. S. Altaeva, and M. Nurzat, who, together with their curator groups, emphasized the importance of educational guidance and the value of engaging directly with cultural heritage. The event played a significant role in broadening students’ perspectives and supporting their professional development.

As part of the curator’s session, participants visited the ceremonial opening of the exhibition “Classics of Russian Literature on Kazakh Soil,” prepared on the basis of collections from the A. S. Pushkin Museum, the Literary and Memorial Museum of F. M. Dostoevsky, and the Memorial Museum of M. A. Sholokhov.

The exhibition presented A. S. Pushkin’s personal belongings, rare books and documents; photographs, letters, and household items related to F. M. Dostoevsky’s Semipalatinsk period; as well as M. A. Sholokhov’s personal items, manuscripts, and materials reflecting his creative ties with Kazakhstan. Each section vividly illustrated the interaction between Kazakh and Russian literary traditions, highlighting their historical and cultural continuity.

This curator’s session offered students a meaningful learning experience, enabling them to deepen their understanding of culture, history, and literary heritage through the museum environment.
