The project “Development of a Technology for Eco-Friendly Disposable Tableware from Renewable Waste» had been awarded a 3rd degree diploma

On November 19, 2025, the environmental youth forum «Farabi GreenCampus: Clean University» was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The forum was aimed at promoting environmental responsibility, supporting scientific initiatives, and popularizing sustainable technologies among the student community.

During the forum, participants presented projects focused on the efficient use of resources, waste reduction, protection of water and air ecosystems, as well as the implementation of energy-efficient and environmentally safe solutions. Special attention was drawn to the project by fourth-year bachelor student of the Department of Biology and Biotechnology, Aruzhan Mukhambetzhanova, titled «Development of a Technology for Eco-Friendly Disposable Tableware from Renewable Waste». The project proposes an innovative approach to creating a safe and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional plastic tableware using renewable materials, which has high practical significance in the context of sustainable development. In recognition of its scientific and practical value, the project was awarded third place and a certificate worth 30,000 tenge.

Aruzhan Mukhambetzhanova emphasized that participation in such forums provides young researchers with an opportunity not only to present their scientific work, but also to exchange experience, and to develop skills in critical analysis and practical implementation of innovative solutions.

The «Farabi GreenCampus» forum confirmed the importance of engaging students in environmental and scientific-technical projects, and demonstrated the potential of combining academic research with practical initiatives to address contemporary environmental challenges.
