A diplomatic reception dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of International Relations was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
Chairman of the Management Board, Rector of Al–Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev delivered a welcoming speech. Congratulating the participants and guests on the significant date, he said: "The Faculty of International Relations of KazNU has been a forge of personnel in the field of international relations for more than 30 years. Our professors and teachers have made a special contribution to the formation of the faculty. The qualified staff supports the academic level and continues the traditions of the Kazakh diplomatic school".
Zhanseit Kanseituly addressed special words to representatives of the diplomatic corps, consuls general, graduates who hold responsible positions in government agencies, embassies, business structures and analytical institutes. "Your presence today is of particular importance and gives our event additional weight and substance",- said the rector.
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev read out a congratulatory letter from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev: "I sincerely congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Faculty of International Relations of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the forge of personnel of national diplomacy. KazNU is my sacred alma mater, which became the beginning of my professional career. Therefore, on today's anniversary, we pay tribute to the past and express our gratitude to the teachers. This is our duty".
Vlastimil Samek, a representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, also spoke at the reception, emphasizing the importance of mutual understanding and international cooperation in an era of change. The diplomats and guests exchanged views on the role of higher education in the development of diplomacy, sustainable peace and mutual respect between peoples.
At the end of the official part, a ceremony was held to present letters of thanks and medals to representatives of the diplomatic corps, as well as a letter of thanks to faculty student Adrian Davust for his active participation in the strategic partners forum "Kazakhstan – the territory of academic education".
The rich program also included a screening of a film about the history of the formation of the faculty and a musical and cultural part prepared by the students of the faculty.
