A great figure who awakened the nation

At the initiative of Professor of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies of the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences N. Zh. Baytenova; Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor M. R. Baltymova; first-year doctoral student Zh. A. Baigaraev; and historian Sh. Kh. Bikenova, a round-table discussion entitled “A Great Figure Who Awakened the Nation” was held at Secondary School No. 1 named after Shokan Ualikhanov in the city of Arkalyk, Kostanay Region. The event was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Mirzhakyp Dulatuly — poet, writer, public figure, and one of the leaders of the Alash movement.
Participants of the round table included: Zh. K. Inirbayeva, head of the primary school “Bidayyk” of the Zhangeldi District of Kostanay Region; N. A. Birmanov, research associate of the M. Dulatuly Museum in the village of Bidayyk, Zhangeldi District; A. A. Abdullina, lecturer at Arkalyk State Pedagogical University named after Y. Altynsarin; B. Zh. Sagyntai, research associate of the Regional Museum of Steppe History in Arkalyk; as well as historians, local historians, school teachers, young researchers, and students.
The primary goal of the event was to conduct a comprehensive scholarly examination of the historical role of M. Dulatuly as an enlightener, public figure, literary scholar, and publicist, as well as to promote national values among the younger generation.
Such events create broad opportunities for young people to deepen their knowledge of national history and to expand research directions related to the legacy of M. Dulatuly.
