With the organization of Professor of the Department of Religious Studies and Cultural Studies, Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Doctor of Philosophical Sciences N.Zh. Baitenova, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor M.R. Baltymova, 1st-year PhD student Zh.A. Baigaraev, and historian Sh.Kh. Bikenova, a round table entitled “The Great Figure Who Awakened the Nation” was held at Secondary School No. 1 named after Shokan Ualikhanov in the city of Arkalyk, Kostanay Region. The event was dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of the poet, writer, public figure, and one of the leaders of the Alash movement, Mirzhakyp Dulatuly.
Participants of the round table included J.K. Inirbaeva, Head of the Bidayyk Primary School of Zhangeldy District, Kostanay Region; N.A. Birmanov, Researcher at the M. Dulatuly Museum in Bidayyk village, Zhangeldy District; A.A. Abdullina, Lecturer at the Arkalyk State Pedagogical University named after Y. Altynsarin; B.Zh. Sagyntai, Researcher at the Regional Museum of the History of the Steppe Region in Arkalyk; as well as historians, local historians, school teachers, young scholars, and school students.
The main purpose of the event was a comprehensive scholarly study of the historical role of the educator, public figure, literary scholar, and publicist M. Dulatuly, as well as the promotion of national values among young people.
The event was held within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 4 “Quality Education”, aiming to develop historical awareness among learners, enhance the quality of education in national history, and encourage interest in studying the intellectual and spiritual heritage of outstanding historical figures.
Such events provide significant opportunities for the younger generation to gain a deeper understanding of national history and to expand research directions related to the legacy of M. Dulatuly.
