A student of the Law Faculty of al-Farabi Kazakh National University, famous athlete Eldar Shekerbek entered the Top 5 among 420 swimmers at a distance of 10 km in open water.
The final of the OCEANMAN 2025 Open Water Swimming World Cup was held in the United Arab Emirates, in the waters of the Persian Gulf. 2,800 swimmers from 87 countries took part in the competition.
The competition program included elite swims, team relay races and youth categories held in open water conditions.
Eldar Shekerbek also acted as a coach at the tournament. His team took the 4th place in the 3×500 meters relay among the 67 strongest teams in the world.
Student of KazNU Ye.Shekerbek is the winner of the Bosphorus swim, the winner of the IRONMAN 2025 triathlon competition (Turkiye), the champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan in open water swimming at distances of 2 km, 5 km and 10 km, the absolute champion of Asia at a distance of 5 km.
He is also a world champion in the 3×500 m relay, winner of silver and bronze medals in the 10 km swim in the Persian Gulf (UAE), European champion in the 10 km race (Spain), winner of the 2023-24 Universiade, Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in open water swimming, candidate for Master of Sports in triathlon and candidate He became a master of sports in the presidential pentathlon.
