Design students embodied the idea of Independence

The Department of Publishing, Editorial and Design Art of the Faculty of Journalism of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized the annual exhibition of student posters "Тәуелсіздік рухы".

At the opening of the traditional exhibition, Dean of the Faculty Kanat Auesbai focused on the historical significance of independence and noted the importance of popularizing national values through art by young people.

This year, the work of students of the Design and Media Design specialties was distinguished by new ideas. According to the head of the exhibition, Professor Zhanarbek Beristenov, the themes of national symbols, historical epochs and modernity are presented in a new visual language on the author's posters.

The event was organized by students of 3-5 courses. Representatives of the creative community also participated in the exhibition.  The students presented their works and explained the essence of their creative solutions. The students who took an active part were awarded certificates.

Ayazhan Tulegenova, a 4th year student at the Faculty of Journalism, shared her experience: "My work is completely done in Photoshop. The poster's composition uses the national flag of Kazakhstan, an image of Kultegin, an important figure in Turkic history, and an excerpt from his song. Through these elements, I tried to convey to the viewer the national spirit, respect for state symbols and the deep historical roots of the Turkic people".

A 4th year student Aidana Kuatbek portrayed the beauty and spiritual strength of Kazakh girls in her painting. "I did it using the wool needle printing technique. I wanted to convey national identity through natural materials in the most natural state. I was inspired to start this work by the unusual personality of Kazakh girls. For me, this work is not just a painting, but a story, "woven" by hands",- said the young designer.

Along with the student's work, the works of the teachers were presented in the exhibition. Among them is the sculpture of Professor Zhanarbek Beristenov "Бөрі ана".

At the end of the exhibition, the participants got acquainted with all the works, exchanged opinions, and had a constructive discussion that inspired the students to come up with new ideas and works.
